Good morning, friends, happy Thursday. My air conditioning unit arrives today. After that I have to wait until 27 August for it to be installed. I am told the box is very big, so it will probably have to sit in the middle of the living room for a few weeks. No doubt Alfie will help with unpacking. Meanwhile, it's getting hot again today over 30C.

That is so silly. It's being delivered too early. Like having a car in the drive & no driver's license. You need it now, not next year. Must be more than one lot of installers in the Country. Most Electricians over here, can install them.

Here it's installed by gas installers. The installation is a part of the purchase package. I wouldn't know how to find a reliable installer. The whole of all buildings trade is rife with cowboys - not the texan kind.
The electrical part is being done next Tuesday (by an electrician).

Over here, gas fitting etc is done by Plumbers. It might be a different type of heat pump than is normally installed here.

Right now it's 37,5 - no one risks setting a paw outside. At 9 am it was 25 and we have dared to make a short walk with the dogs in the fields (trying to stay in the shadow) but came back exhausted. Last night at midnight it was still 26 C. Our house is insulated so well that once it got warm it keeps the warmth inside.the dogs are just playing dead dogs in front of the air-condition unit.

At the moment in Turin it is 33 degrees, but during the day we are around 37 and this week it is not particularly high, to the suffering is added the worry this heat is no longer an anomaly but the constant and it will get worse and worse :-(
We have been relatively cooler, but the afternoons are still hot 31°C today. Nights are blissfully cool.
My air conditioning unit installation is scheduled for 27 August. It will be useful next year.
